The Grand Marais Agate Show grew from one big love: the thrill of finding, sharing and talking about beautiful rocks.
It began as a Lake Superior agate show. Today it also brings in dealers selling rocks and minerals from all over the world, along with artists selling mineral art and jewelry. It's a place where first-time beach-combers and lifelong collectors stand side by side, swap stories and leave with something sparkly.
We work closely with the Grand Marais community and Chamber, because the show is about more than rocks. It's about bringing visitors to this special town and supporting the local businesses that make it home.
It all starts with a Rock-On
Karen Brzys takes part in the very first Rock-On Show at Muskallonge Lake State Park, just east of town.
Grand Marais gets its own show
When the Rock-On Show ends, the Grand Marais Rock and Mineral Show begins right here in town.
The show goes on
After Karen's passing, a new collaborative show board forms to keep the tradition alive for rock lovers and the community.

On May 29, 2026, Karen passed away unexpectedly. Her passion for Lake Superior agates, and for sharing them with anyone who'd listen, built this show from the ground up. The 2027 show is our thank-you to her. Every stone on every table carries a little of her joy.
